2 Simple Rules for Posing Portraits | 31 Days of Photo Tips, day 18

These are super simple guidelines for posing your portrait subjects.

1. If it bends, bend it.
2. If there are 2, make them different.

Wrists, elbows, knees – these are bendable joints. Keeping them locked and stiff looks awkward and unnatural. Bend them.

2 arms, 2 hands, 2 legs, 2 feet: if you pose them identically, it will feel weird. Make them different.
