Holy cannoli – it’s August! How did that happen? August means the fair, (not) back-to-school, wrapping up summer break, sweet corn, and the last of Iowa’s gorgeous hot weather. What does August mean in your neck of the woods?
This week I want to feature a brand new site for photographers:
Love that Shot is a site where those who love taking photos can come together and learn. Co-founders and sisters, Michelle and Misti, offer workshops, tutorials, articles and digital products that inspire their members to try new things with their photos.
They also offer a free community and gallery, where you’ll find a fun positive environment to share ideas and learn from others. Michelle and Misti are also there answering questions and giving feedback.
There is also a talented group of contributors who are team members with Michelle and Misti. I am lucky enough to get to be on the team with those talented women – I sure snuck by them, didn’t I?

Two birthdays this month–my baby is turning 9 and my oldest is turning 13! I am close to being a mom with a teen. Wow! My aunt and cousin are visiting for a few days, then my mom comes for a week. All of this and then trying to squeeze in the not back to school blog hop and plan for school and teaching a co-op! Busy!

August in my Sandwich Generation family means a wide variety of things – for some school is starting, for others home school is starting, (and I get to enjoy and help with some of both
). Plus several birthdays. And plenty of swimming, bubble, and games along with monster and dinosaur tag. AND, in spite of the HEAT, it means my favorite season, AUTUMN is just around the corner.

Since my website is focused on providing low cost homeschool curriculum, I don’t often post pictures of beauty like these. Mine are usually pictures of books, etc. However, I do have some great pictures that I need to make an out-of-the-ordinary post that relates to homeschooling, but not particularly to books and curriculum. I was drawn to your site because I have 4 boys and the BOYBARIANS just jumped out at me as a quite appropriate title for any high energy boy (and aren’t they all high energy?).
