Sweet Shot Tuesday

I love watching the seasons change even among the photos you post. Last week saw a lot more water, nekked babies and huge, blooming plants. It must be summer! (okay, we’re technically a bit shy, but feels like summer to me!) As if on cue, last weeks random winner of a *Shey*[B] camera strap cover shop credit is Sharon from Keen Inspirations who posted this sweet pup:

Shoot me an email, Sharon, and I’ll pass it along to the very crafty Shey! If you didn’t win but can’t resist the gorgeousness any longer, head on over to *Shey*[B] ‘s shop. Thanking the sponsors keeps the giveaways going!

I spent the last few days at Wordcamp Chicago. If you’ve ever been to a blogging conference, this one is a WordPress-based conference. Wowzers. If something would have happened to that room, I think Chicago’s collective IQ at the moment would have plummeted. Anyway, so it should come as no surprise that this week’s awesome featured shop – is a big one!

Pixel Happy for Genesis by Studiopress

Genesis is a theme framework built on WordPress by the amazing team at StudioPress. Studiopress is known for their helpful, patient support forum, their flexible themes and now… Genesis. I had the opportunity to meet the brains behind this awesome theme this weekend.

Earlier this year, Studiopress wanted a child theme with photographers in mind; as a photographer and blog designer, I knew what features I wanted in a theme. So, partnered with Studiopress’s Brian Gardner, we came up with a theme that has:

  • Flexible layout. Choose 1, 2 or 3 column with a click. You can have 900 pixel-wide images on your portfolio page, and a two-or three- column layout for your blog posts.
  • Widgetized lower footer with 3 columns of widgets.
  • Slideshow header that’s as easy as uploading jpgs at the right size. No need to know flash or code.
  • Right-click protected images, if you want. Easy to delete if you don’t.
  • The ability to wrap your images in a watermark code.
  • Gallery options that integrate plugins for an impressive client galleries.
  • All the reliable support and updates from the minds that bring you Genesis.

This week, the awesome team at Studiopress is sponsoring the giveaway. One participant will receive the downloadable Genesis theme framework for WordPress, the Pixel Happy child theme and membership to Studiopress forums for Genesis and Pixel Happy – valued at $79.95.

**There is no cash value for this giveaway; it’s non-transferable. If you do not have a blog on WordPress.org and your name is drawn, you forfeit the prize and another name will be drawn. This giveaway is sponsored by Studiopress. (Thanks Craig and Brian!! xoxo!) Void where your peeps don’t allow it. License includes forum support and a paid license for Genesis and the child theme, Pixel Happy. Acceptance of the prize means you use wordpress.org and can install/use the theme yourself. In full disclosure, I am an affiliate and as the designer of Pixel Happy will profit from its purchase. (yay me!) ;)

Still blogging on Typepad, Blogger or WordPress.com? No worries! Next week the giveaway will be perfect for you!

That was, indeed, an awesome shot! And this week’s photos are all so delightful as well! I’m really enjoying participating in Sweet Shot Tuesday and taking ten times more pix than before. Fortunately, taking lots of photos fits in well with the wide variety of activities for grandparents and their grandchildren that I enjoy so much as part of the Sandwich Generation! :) Thanks for all the encouragement and ideas.
