Sweet Shot Tuesday

You all keep getting better and better. I have really enjoyed the photos, but what I’ve enjoyed most is seeing all the comments of encouragement our little community is giving each other. You all are so positive and have done a great job checking out each other’s work. It’s just so cool to watch this little community form. Love it!

Speaking of cool…. ;)

We have another great sponsor for Sweet Shot Tuesday. Michelle is a blogger, photographer and entrepreneur from Open Scrapbook which focuses on digital photography and digital scrapbooking. She writes tutorials and develops products that help make regular photos into amazing photos. If you enjoy playing with photos check out what Michelle says about her Photo Veils:

photo veils“The set includes 30 original Photo Veil “overlays.” They are so simple to use and they can transform your photos quickly into works of art, in as little as 5 minutes! Photo Veils work much like textures, you apply them to your photos and use blending modes to achieve your desired effects. They are compatible with most photo editing programs, including Photoshop and Photoshop Elements!”

To show you how you can transform the photos you take, she included some samples of the Photo Veils for us to see. Photo Veils are like overlays. You can pull them on a layer above your photo and then play with the strength and opacity of that layer.

Everyone who participates in Sweet Shot Tuesday is automatically entered to win a set of Michelle’s Photo Veils. Thank you, Michelle!

Now it’s your turn! Hit us with your best shot! If this is your first Sweet Shot day, please read the FAQs, and grab a button from the sidebar. Thanks for being part of our fun community of photo fans.

I’m trusting your statement at the bottom of your blog that the best camera is the one you have with you. The only camera I use is my iPhone. Will I get laughed at??

Thanks for this meme. It’s better than Wordless Wednesday because you can, like, use words.

    • Darcy says:

Gracious, no! I use my iPhone camera all the time.

Having a camera you’ll use and use often is always better than the one you don’t want to lug around.

Have you seen the Photoshop app for iPhone? It’s kinda fun!

      • Dawn Farias says:

Funny, it just occurred to me this morning !! to search through the apps. I saw the Photoshop one and a few other interesting ones. I read a post earlier this week about how to take better pictures with your iPhone. I think I found a new hobby! (Just got the phone for Christmas….)

        • Darcy says:

Oh, I have the original iphone – bought it the month after it came out. The camera on it is only so-so. And I’ve already filled all 8GB. Then, I bought a new one recently and that phone takes really good photos! It’s also 32GB and promises not to fill so quickly.

But the photo in my footer of the cup was taken in 2007 or 2008 with the original iphone and has become one of my favorites.

I’ve got a post coming about this soon! ;)

I really was hoping to link up with this meme today but I am bummed I cannot seem to get my link to paste in URL box. I’m fairly new to blogging but have done a few other parties, not sure what I am doing wrong. Help please!

    • Darcy says:

Try pasting it in by clicking on the line and hitting control-v on your keyboard. That means paste. You can also click on the link then go up to Edit> Paste in your browser bar.

Long story short, someone took a bunch of my photos, so to try and deter it – although it’s imperfect – the context menus on this blog are disabled. :( Sad, huh?

I may take it off. I know it’s a pain in the patoot. But I really don’t want to see my children on istock or some harvester’s blog. Ho Hum. I’ve been thinking about this lots.

It’s an easy work-around, but not everyone knows about Edit>paste or ctrl-v (command-v).
