My Friday Fix-It: High Contrast

This is a quick one since we’re planning on leaving the state soon. Short version – I wanted to try something dramatic and moody. So I played up the light from the window, and bumped up the blacks behind him. The high contrast editing blows out the skin a little – purposefully this time! But it really makes his eyes pop. It was fun to work with this photo in a way I never do.

Here is the before image. You can go to I ♥ Faces to download the image so you can take a turn editing.

I like it! Great job. I like the creativity and the border with his name. This photo looks great with high contrast because of all that natural lighting on half his face

  9. Wow, you did a great job! Both on his skin and the high-contrast, moody feel of the finished product. And thank you for keeping his dimple.

Thankfully, his skin isn’t always that bad (that was a particularly bad reaction) or I’d do nothing BUT edit photos.

(Not that I’m embarrassed or ashamed of it, but I do like to at least touch up any pictures I’m going to post.)

I’m excited to try all the ideas and tips I’ve gleaned from this week’s edits.
