Have to say I love the cala pillars word too. Mine say that and my daughter still says "pasghetti" and I have not the heart to correct her. I fix it just to hear her say it :)

He pedaled?! He pedaled?!!! :sniff: :sniff: That is so stinkin' awesome! Way to go!!!

Cala-pillars. *sigh* So sweet. I'd scoop him up too. You do realize that he is going to grow up thinking of mommy always having that look on her face-- the one that says "awww... look at my baby and how sweet he is! you are getting so big but you'll always be my baby" look. Yup. I wonder if he'll mind it when he gets his drivers license or is old enough to graduate...

Tastes like Christmas could very well be the highest compliment ever paid to a cookie.

Oh. Calapillars. I know what you mean. Sometimes I long to hear one of my boys say that he's all "warm and tumf'table," not comfortable. Or "God bless Mary and Jofus and little baby Jesus." I just liked Joseph better when he was "Jofus." No. No one should teach Trouble to say caterpillar. He'll know soon enough. And he'll know how to steer, too. And you'll be so glad you took these pictures, both with your camera and with your heart.

darling! when my little bit of trouble was undergoing speech therapy his wonderful helper asked if there were any words that I would prefer her to leave alone. It was all I could do not to shoo her out the door. I loved every one of his mispronunciations. There is a reason we have so many stereotypes about the babies of the family....and I think they mostly have to do with Moms and our unwillingness to give up.

Beautifully written and photographed as always!

We just did cala-pillars too! Our "butter-fwy" were beautiful. I had to read The Very Hungry Caterpillar several types throughout the cycle. It was fun & we made a little mini unit for a bit of summer school :) Now we've moved on to lizard eggs the boys found. At least I hope they are lizard eggs . . .

Darcy, Chelsea is 17 years old and I STILL squeel and ooohhh and ahhhh over every single one of her new accomplishments. I don't think I will ever stop! It took Chelsea a long time to ride a bike too, and once she outgrew training wheels, we ended up getting her a "trike"....it's large enough for an adult and she LOVES it! She has balance issues and wouldn't even attempt riding a bike without training wheels.

The cookies look delicious and I love the Cala-pillars!

Those moments are precious. He is so cute in that helmet.

My oldest boy used to call our spare bedroom the "sparrow bedroom" and I still insist on it being called that. I miss those little "isms" in the way my boys used to talk when they were little.

The caterpillars look awesome. I may be dense, but how do you do that? Do you buy a kit somewhere? We're town people and I wouldn't know where to find a caterpillar if my life depended on it. Sad, I know. :) We just bought a little ant farm and my boys are captivated by it.
