In case any of my neighbors are reading – this is why we still have our Christmas wreath up in June. Once her little ones have moved out, we’ll take it down. By then, it may be time to put it up again. In the meantime, we’re banished from the front door. Have you ever been taken hostage by nature?

These were shot in my new full-frame camera and shot with the gorgeous Nikon prime 50mm 1.4 and the 24-70mm 2.8 lenses. They are like buttah. The shots are so smooth, I could lick them.

We had a family of robins over our electric meter last year…they didn’t come back this year and I’m so sad. I’m a total bird nerd. : )

Well, duh! We make beef kabobs all the time in the summer and I never thought to put potatoes on the skewer. I usually do mushroom, onions, and zucchini. I’m totally putting potatoes on there next time. I love those little red one. I hope you feel at least a teeny bit guilty that you’ve made me hungry.

Funny story – we just got a “courtesy” notice from our HOA saying we needed to trim our heavily [gorgeous] blooming bouganvillea that’s over our garage door. After I counted to ten, I calmly called the lady and told her we would do so AFTER the nesting birds in the vine were done and gone. geesh.
Oh my! Full frame and the lenses too! You must be in (as they say in the South) hog-heaven.
We had some little birds to build over our front door and it was plain scary to try and go in at night. They would come out and scare the you-know-what out of ya!

I think we have a nest near our front door – the birds watch you like crazy but have never had them swoop near us. The kabobs look delish. Thanks for reminding me of a yummy and easy summer meal.

I will never be judgmental again about people leaving their Christmas decorations up this long! I can’t think of a time when we’ve been taken hostage by nature, but we still have an almost year old very cool spider (?) web in our kitchen window that we refuse to clean out because it’s so different than anything we’ve ever seen. Great conversation starter when we have people over!
I’m all about cost, so pardon my snoopy questions – How much did it cost you to host your blog? Which host did you use? Do you think the average blogger gal could make the move to a new host with WordPress easily, or would she have to have help?
I’ve contemplated moving, but these are the things that scare me. Being on my own with my limited computer knowledge and the cost of hosting.
How do you handle advertising, too?
You’ve got me re-thinking my decision not to move to WordPress.
I just thought of another question – why did you have to switch blog addresses? I have my own domain and do not want to lose it or have to give it up if I switched to WordPress.

I don’t blame you one bit for not taking down your Christmas wreath. I would keep it up, too! That’s so awesome!! Hubby and I have a soft spot for animals/birds. We even enjoy the frogs who come to eat by the back porch light every night! =)

This is sweet and wonderful to behold, Darcy, especially when you’ve photographed it so beautifully.
