:::sigh::: One of my sons is meticulous. Another thinks that weird stuff is pretty. The third just rushes through and makes a mess. I hope the littlest grows up to be a good crafter. If two of them are, I can justify doing it. Just one, though . . . :::sigh:::
All I can say is that I can totally relate!
Boys! Gotta love ‘em though.

Oh, yes, we’ve had a number of projects not survive the day. Sometimes because the boys never really liked the project in the first place, but other times just ‘cuz. This is when the power of prayer *really* helps!
Darcy:
I had a “lazy” day at home today (finally-phew!) and stumbled across your blog. WOW–What a neat blog! What I want to know, is when do you sleep…or better yet, do you? You’ve done a beautiful job keeping up with everday life and then some. You blog truly inspired me to *maybe*, just maybe do a blog starting with the new year. I truly enjoyed reading your entries. I think I’ll bookmark this, if you don’t mind!

Oh that is *so* something you might see at our home! They enjoy the craft thing a tiny bit – when I can get them to sit still long enough to attempt it! lol.

As a teacher, I think girls are the worst with it…they think it has to be perfect…and if not, they crumple it up and toss it to the wind. Boys tend to not really care so their projects seem to stay intact…unless it’s in their way when they want to destroy something. LOL
Did they use the light saber (or is it life saber, life saver, light saver???) on it? LOL

I have to say that that is totally “boy.” No doubt, at all.
My boy, 6, sort of likes crafts. As in, he’ll do them and say they were fun but he won’t put much actual effort into them and if he does, it’s in coloring the entire thing pitch BLACK.
My daughter, 4, on the other hand, takes pristine patience in coloring her creation “just right.” It is usually multi-layered in its color and composition and has taken twelve times longer than anything else (on the planet). It is always beautiful (if only in her eyes) and is always “art” not craft, not coloring, not play, but ART. But I love it all. I wish I were so artistic… so it’s not only a girl thing for I am not that way (though I would never destroy a project – I would hide it if it came to that point.
